Dogs need to be walked on a regular basis and this can be a good opportunity for you to get some exercise in, through walks or jogs. People who have pets are generally better at social interactions. More importantly, kids who have pets growing up tend to be more respectful to living things.

Having a pet like a dog can significantly up your house security as they can double as a watchman. Their keen senses will help detect any out of the ordinary activity and their presence will make burglars think twice before trying to break into your house.
